England Counties propose to host IPL in Mid-September

A group of English-county regions propose to hold the remaining time of the 2021 IPL season in September. MCC, Surrey, Warwickshire and Lancashire all are located in the House of Lords, Kia Oval ( London), Edgbaston (Birmingham) and the UAE. Therefore, Old Trafford (Manchester) is considered to be part of the group written to the England Cricket Board, asking the ECB to expand the possibility of BCCI.

The game is expected to end in about two weeks in the second half of September. At the end of the game, the districts celebrated that this will help top players to play high-quality cricket on their way to the T20 World Cup and will provide them with access to the UAE venue for the T20 World Cup when the UAE is withdrawn from India. n the Covid-19 case On the day IPL was postponed among the four franchises after the outbreak, BCCI did not discuss England’s options. It is not clear whether this option has been considered. The districts hope to be able to play games in front of a very dense audience. However, if the IPL is located in the United Arab Emirates and there are two (or even three) games every day, this is also possible. There will be no rest between the group stage and the playoffs.

However, there are many obstacles in the process of implementing the plan. There are also quarantine issues that bring players from all over the world to the UK, although some Indian players in the UK in the test series with England may help. The current schedule is another major obstacle: the England-India test series does not end until September 14 in Manchester, and the United Kingdom is expected to travel to Bangladesh and Pakistan next month for the white ball match.

Taking into account the possible quarantine period, other parties assume international obligations at about the same time, although the last few weeks of September are still less than most other parties. However, the regions hope that they can have a certain degree of flexibility to find a window to host events in England.
